Bharat Mata Temple. (Mother India) In this temple, the country of India is depicted as Bharat Mata.

Bharat Mata Temple in Varanasi is located about a kilometer from Cant- railway station. This temple is near Mahatma Gandhi Kashi Vidyapeeth University. The temple has a beautiful campus. The walls of this campus depict major events related to India’s freedom struggle through paintings. The Fine Arts Department of the University is also on this campus, due to which a large number of students can be seen here. Bharat Mata Mandir(Mother India) is a two-story building made of sandstone on the campus. Important Information related to the temple is written on the information plate.

The building was designed by freedom fighter Babu Shiv Prasad Gupta and was inaugurated by Mahatma Gandhi in 1936.

The central atrium houses a map of undivided India (Akhand Bharat carved in marble as a votive object. The main building is double storied and square in plan. The map comprises 762 square pieces of marble measuring 11″x11″ Bach was built by 30. Sculptors and 25 masons. The relief map sunken in the floor can be seen from the first floor circumambulatory passage. It measures 950 m x 920 m at the scale of 1:405500 (1 inch being equal to 6.4 miles). The temple building is situated at a slight height, for which some stairs have to be climbed.

Complete Vande Mataram National Song (Rashtra-Geet) is written on both sides of the main door. Gayatri Mantra is inscribed on the main entrance of the temple. Swastik, the sacred mark of Hindus, is also built here. Do not pay attention to any Marxist, Propaganda; it is a very ancient Hindu symbol that has been in use for thousands of years. (These signs have also been found in the excavations of Harappa, Mohenjodaro). Some holy Hindu icons made with it can break the heart of any communist, Marxists.

 What is the historical similarity between these holy and thousands year old Hindu icons and the holy symbols of Jews, The Star of David, Seal of Solomon? It would be better if left to historians.

On entering the main gate, a geographical map of India is made on the floor. This map shows Akhand Bharat (this map precedes the partition of India-Pakistan), for this reason, it is called Bharat Mata Mandir(Mother India). In India, the mother is the Centre of the family and our highest ideal. To us, she is representative of God, as God himself is the mother of the universe.

Why should the Hindu mother be worshipped? Our philosophers try to find a reason and they come to this definition: We call ourselves the Aryan race. What is the Aryan? He is a man whose birth is through religion .this is a peculiar subject, perhaps in this country; but the idea is that a man must be born through religion, through prayers. India did not even have its own independent national flag at the time of British colonialism. Every nation in the world has its own national flag, which symbolizes that country’s independence, sovereignty, integrity, unity. According to Indian civilization and culture, imagining the country as a mother was also compatible with the feelings of the common people of the country.

Bankim Chandra Chatterjee arrived under such circumstances. He had not said anything new – he had interpreted the Gita afresh. Amidst an atmosphere of despair, there was an assurance of victory in the verses of Gita.

Shri Krishna chanted the mantra of Shakti during Kurukshetra, encouraging Arjuna the war-bearer. After a long time, those mantras again filled the youth with hope. In his novel Anand Math, Bankim Chandra wrote the valor of the revolutionaries who challenged the British and made the Indians realize that freedom is their first right, which is the solemn duty of every Indian to achieve.

The novel, based on the revolt of the monks of Bengal against British imperialism, had a song on the worship of the motherland. The title of this song was —- Vande Mataram. Later this title became the epitome of opposition to British imperialism. Its popularity can be understood from the fact that it was accepted for greetings throughout the country.

On seeing any British, children also started announcing Vande Mataram to tease him.

Describing the same incident, famous Bengali writer Vimal Mitra has written that after seeing a British officer who went out on a morning walk, some children started shouting Vande Mataram, upset and annoyed by this incident. British officer said ———-

Mahatma Gandhi himself, a very popular mass leader throughout the country, used Vande Mataram in place of greeting in his correspondence. Sometimes as I reached a gathering, a great role of welcome would greet me: Bharat Mata ki Jay—‘Victory to mother India.’ I would ask them unexpectedly what they meant by that cry, who was this Bharat Mata, Mother India, whose victory they wanted. My question would amuse them and surprise them, and they not knowing exactly what to answer, they would look at each other and at me. I persisted in my questioning. At last, a vigorous Jat wedded to the soil from immemorial generations, would say that it was the dharti, the good earth of India that they meant. What Earth? Their particular village patch, or all the patches in the district or province, or in the whole of India? And so question and answer went on, till they would ask me impatiently to tell them all about it. I would endeavor to do so and explain that India was all this that they had thought, but it was much more, The mountains and the rivers of India, and the forests and the broad fields, which gave us food, were all dear to us, but what counted ultimately were the people of India, people like them and me, who were spread out all over this vast land. Bharat Mata, Mother India was essentially these millions of people, and victory to her meant victory to these people. You are parts of this Bharat Mata, I told them, you are in a manner yourselves Bharat Mata, and as this idea slowly soaked into their brains, their eyes would lit up as if they had made a great discovery.

Vande –Mataram and Muslims:– Vande Mataram song was opposed by Muslims because of the worship of Hindu Goddess Durga at someplace in it. Islam believes in monotheism, for this reason, the Muslim spirit is hurt by singing the song Vande Mataram.

A committee was formed keeping in mind the sentiments of the Muslims. Nehru, the chairman of this committee, was appointed and Maulana Abdul Kalam Azad was also placed in this committee. The committee while submitting its report said that at the beginning of the song Vande Mataram there is a praise of Mother India, but later lines mention Hindu Gods and Goddesses. In order to maintain Hindu-Muslim unity and avoid controversy, only the homeland praise section of this song was accepted as a national song. Ravindra Nath Tagore’s “Jan-Man-Gag” was accepted as the national anthem to avoid controversy.

The Shakti we call India Bhawani Bharti is the living unity of three hundred million, people but she is inactively imprisoned in the magic circle of the tamas the self-indulgent inertia and ignorance of her sons to get rid of tamas we have but to wake the Brahma within. Bloodthirsty people like Hitler, Lenin, Stalin, and Mao killed millions with the help of Propaganda. It cannot be avoided considering it as an internal issue of a failed country Pakistan. Such unrestrained things are part of Islamic Jihad. Such propaganda is bolstered by active Islamic extremists within the country and poor politics of appeasement.

For the past few years, the opposition of Vande Mataram, the opposition of the Indian flag, the country’s Republic Day, the Independence Day, has been opposed on the basis of the notion of Islamic monotheism. India is not an Islamic country, Sharia law cannot be imposed here.

Such pointless things not only insult our revolutionaries, the feelings of countrymen, but also our thousands of years old culture and civilization. The Muslims of the country have to understand clearly that the sentiments of this country cannot be mocked by praising Islam, and not this great country can be shaken by showing fear of Jihad and Gazwa-e Hind.

However, it is definitely that with such antics, people start to look suspiciously towards Islam.
