Kartarpur has a great importance among Sikhs and Hindus.
Guru Nanak Ji had spent 18 years of his life here. Its importance can be gauged from the fact that devotees consider themselves blessed by looking at Kartarpur with binoculars( दर्शन ) from Dera Nanak. (Kartarpur is currently in Pakistan) Guru Nanak Ji also died here on 22 September 1539.
After the India-Pakistan partition, it will be the first time that devotees will be able to visit Pakistan without a visa.
